the flowers this week

Yes, it is February - traditionally the month for only one flower, in only one colour.
We can do better than that!

Here are just a few of the freshest arrivals - and there are gerbera daisies and delicately fragrant freesia, ranunculas and always the most interesting leaves, grasses and greens.

beautiful blue iris

agapanthus

everyone's favourite: craspedia

sea holly / thistle

bright green button mums - they look great with the thistle

anemone

fresh cut amaryllis

long vase-life ornithogalum

classic white spider mums

And there will always be roses in the shop - white, red and whatever seems irresistable...

fragrant deep pink roses

and if you must have roses - why not these cream and blush bi-colour roses?

Simply beautiful.

I know, I know...
Who gives you a break on Valentine's Day?
But - if you tell me what you want this week - it will help me to plan my flowers,
and for that I can say thanks by paying the hst for you.

Call or email me from tuesday january 31 to saturday february 4
and we can discuss the details!

what's in store?

This week I have anemones from Niagara -  delicate papery petals with such an intense colour - perfect alone or paired up with scented yellow mimosa

the most fragrant freesia I could find

And what will be difficult to part with this week besides the first tulips?
a bouquet of poppies!

...plus - new mini orchids to choose from, frosty ferns are back(!), our own Ontario spray roses and hot pink gerbera daisies are in stock.

Oh, it is good to be back in the shop.

Happy New Year

Winter is just teasing us in Southern Ontario. It will surely get cold and snowy eventually, but in the meantime little bits of spring are showing up in the shop.

I am starting to get the first cut tulips, and they are beautiful. I can't resist the flamboyant parrot tulips, or the double petal or the fringed petal. If you want something special or specific - let me know and I will track them down for you.

And the first primroses are here! They smell fantastic - I have plants with single and double petal flowers. After they finish their blooms in your house, treat them like a houseplant and then put them outside in the very early spring for another rush of blooms!
